The mill

Tell us what you are feeding. We’ll grind it.

Custom grind and mix is the heart of this place. Nicole Wood said so in 2025, and it has been true since Vaughn put the mill to work in 1954. We grind grain and mix livestock rations for farms around New Paris, Preble County, and across the Indiana line.

Bring your own grain or use ours. Ask about batch size, protein, and whether you want a complete mix or a balancer to go on corn you already have. If you are not sure what the animals need, come in and talk it through — that is still how a country mill works.

What we keep in the store

We are a licensed Ohio commercial feed registrant. Public listings describe livestock feed, dog and cat food, animal health products, and show supplies. Brand lines and bag counts change — call if you need a specific item.

Cattle, hogs, sheep & goats

Complete feeds, mixers, and custom rations for the livestock that still pay the bills in this county.

Horses & show stock

Show supplies and feeds for 4-H, FFA, and the families who live at the fairgrounds in July.

Dogs & cats

Pet food is part of the mill store. Ask what is in stock; we can often order what we do not have on the shelf.

Animal health

Minerals, health products, and the small items you would rather pick up locally than drive to town twice for.

Public business records list Riegel Feed & Grain among Kent Nutrition / Kent Feeds dealers. Ask at the counter which Kent products are on hand.

How to order

Call ahead on custom mixes.

A grind-and-mix is not a grab-and-go bag. Phone the mill with the ration, the tonnage or bag count, and when you can pick it up. During planting and harvest the mill gets busy; a day’s notice helps.

Store hours are Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We are closed Sunday.
